What is EGLS?

The EGLS algorithm is a simple and effective framework designed to guide clinicians in the management of shocked patients.
Over the last decade, bedside ultrasound has gained widespread acceptance and is now considered standard of care in many clinical situations. With appropriate use, ultrasound can decrease the time to diagnosis and narrow the list of differential diagnosis, two factors essential in the treatment of trauma or haemodynamic instability.
An ultrasound assessment is particularly useful for managing a patient in undifferentiated shock.

Who should come to EGLS?

EGLS is suitable for all health care providers who deal with patients who could present with acute shock. Emergency Physicians, Intensive Care, Anaesthesia, Medical, Surgical or General practice, Paramedics,  Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Medical students. There is no requirement for a knowledge of ultrasound but there is a significant pre course component and textbook that will familiarise you with basic ultrasound before you come for the 1 day live course.

Why come to EGLS?

Principis obsta; Sero medicina paratur, cum mala per longas invaluere moras – translates as Too late is the medicine prepared when disease has gained strength by long delay. EGLS reduces the delay to definitive diagnosis in a patient with undifferentiated shock. Do better by your patient.
EGLS has also been approved as a Focused Intensive Care Echocardiography FICE  course by the Intensive Care Society of the UK. This is an essential course if you are considering a career in intensive care medicine
